Volunteers wanted!

We're hoping to be in the Cafe sometime in the new year and we really need YOU to volunteer to work in our social enterprise. It's a great way to get experience to put on your CV, get access to all of Creative Support's great training (including qualifications/training certificates like First Aid and Food Hygiene) and be part of our exciting new community hub.

First selling event

We had a great time at the recent Creative Support Olympic event and it was the first time we trialed the selling aspect of our social enterprise. Prior to the event our Art Club spent the run up creating beautiful products to sell and the techniques used included felt making, tie dying, bath bomb making and more! We then branded everything and packaged it up nicely. Our stall went down really well and there were huge amounts of compliments and encouragement for the cafe in general.

Here are a few photos of products but there will definitely be more to come!

If you're interested in buying any of the products we'll be running another stall on Saturday 8th September, 10am to 12pm @ Grange Road Methodist Church's Coffee Morning. There will be a lot of great information sharing, other stalls and stands as well as ourselves so make sure to stop by!

Welcome!

Welcome to the blog for the Creative Cafe, a social enterprise run by Choices for Life, a service for adults with Mental Health Needs in Hartlepool. Once we have our premises we will be running a cafe that works in partnership with local organisations to serve delicious homemade food and offers volunteering opportunities to our Service Users. We will also be selling products, including arts and crafts and food within the space, holding art exhibitions and exciting events. We aim to become a community hub, an exciting venue that brings people together.

This blog is where we will post updates about the cafe, timetables of events and anything else we'd like to share! Please follow us and ensure you are kept up to date.
